Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before downloading or using the Kaeru mobile application ("App") operated by Rozemyne Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not use the App.
1. License to Use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes subject to these Terms. You may not:
  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the App.
2. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content (including but not limited to the flashcard decks, audio recordings, stroke order animations, design, and logo) are and will remain the exclusive property of Rozemyne Ltd.
The App is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of the United Kingdom and foreign countries. Our trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of Rozemyne Ltd.
3. User Data and Local Storage
Kaeru operates as an offline-first application. All your data (including study progress, custom decks, and statistics) is stored locally on your device.
  • We are not responsible for data loss. It is your sole responsibility to back up your device (e.g., via iCloud or iTunes).
  • If you delete the App or lose your device, your data may be irretrievable. We cannot restore your data because we do not have access to it.
4. Disclaimers
  • Educational Purpose: The App is designed to assist with learning Japanese. We do not guarantee specific results, fluency, or passing grades on standardized exams (such as the JLPT).
  • "As Is" Basis: The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or available at any particular time or location.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rozemyne Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the App.
6. Subscriptions and Purchases
If the App offers in-app purchases or subscriptions ("Kaeru Plus"):
  • Payments will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
  • You are responsible for managing and canceling your subscriptions via your Apple ID settings.
7. Updates and Changes
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We also reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) without notice. Continued use of the App after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
